Last month, Fox released the new Comic-Con trailer for Season 3 of Gotham, which has been slated to debut on Monday, September 19 at 8 PM ET on Fox. While we haven't seen any new footage since then, we'll surely be getting more sneak peeks as we get closer to the Season 3 premiere. To get fans ready for this new season, Fox has unveiled new character portraits to tide you over until the new footage debuts.

Fox debuted these images over the weekend, which feature stars Ben McKenzie (James Gordon), Erin Richards (Barbara Kean), Robin Lord Taylor (Penguin), Drew Powell (Butch), Jada Pinkett Smith (Fish Mooney), Camren Bicondova (Catwoman), Jessica Lucas (Tabitha Galivan), David Mazouz (Bruce Wayne), Sean Pertwee (Alfred Pennyworth), Donal Logue (Harvey Bullock), Cory Michael Smith (The Riddler), Chris Chalk (Lucius Fox), Morena Baccarin (Leslie Thompkins) and Michael Chiklis (Nathaniel Barnes). The origin story continues on Gotham, and the stakes are higher than ever, as Super-Villains more ambitious and depraved are introduced, and a realignment of alliances shakes up the fight for power in Gotham City.

With Season Two's thrilling conclusion, Detectives Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock remain at the forefront of the fight against crime in this dangerously corrupt city. Throughout the past season, Gordon's moral compass wavered more than ever, as villains emerged from the city's darkest places. With the help of Hugo Strange (guest star BD Wong), a brilliant psychiatrist secretly conducting horrifying experiments for Wayne Enterprises' black-ops program, Indian Hill, familiar faces arose, including Azrael, formerly Theo Galavan (James Frain); Mr. Freeze (guest star Nathan Darrow); and Fish Mooney (guest star Jada Pinkett Smith).

Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne, with the help of his trusted butler and mentor, Alfred Pennyworth, and his ally at Wayne Enterprises, Lucius Fox, found out there are more secrets to uncover regarding the Waynes' murders. Heading into Season Three, Gotham will continue to follow the evolving stories of the city's most malevolent villains: The Penguin; Edward Nygma/The Riddler; Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman; and Barbara Kean. Gotham also will dive into the origin stories of The Mad Hatter and the Tweed Brothers, and will peel back the curtain on the Court of Owls.

Earlier this summer, Cory Michael Smith, who plays The Riddler, revealed that Season 3 will follow an election, mirroring the upcoming Presidential election this fall. New characters this season will also include Valerie Vale (Jamie Chung), Mad Hatter (Benedict Samuel), Solomon Grundy and Maggie Geha, taking over the Poison Ivy role from Clare Foley. Take a look at these new character posters as we get ready for Season 3 of Gotham.
