Last month, producer Lauren Shuler Donner shared the first cast photo from the new X-Men TV series entitled Gifted, which started production on the pilot episode shortly thereafter. While we likely won't known until Fox's upfront presentation next month if the show will get a series order, today we have a new photo from the set that reveals Marvel legend Stan Lee does in fact have a cameo in the pilot. The photo comes from Bryan Singer, who serves as executive producer on the show and also directed the pilot episode. Here's what he had to say about this set photo, which was taken while production was under way in Dallas.

"#throwbackthursday Shooting my 3rd cameo with my epic friend Stan Lee a few weeks ago at the famous #doublwide #bar in #Dallas #Texas. My first cameo with Stan was in #Xmen 1, nearly two decades ago in #malibu, he's a man of unstoppable energy and humor. Photo @aelvishaye with @dan_ryniker thank you @brightidea #maxanderson"

Unfortunately, director Bryan Singer wouldn't divulge any details about Stan Lee's cameo on Instagram, but hopefully we'll hear more about his involvement soon. While 20th Century Fox has yet to issue a series order, it certainly seems likely, since the network issued a "put pilot" order for the show back in January, which is normally a big indication that it will get a series order. If the network doesn't pick up the show, or at least air the pilot in some fashion, they will be forced to pay the production company a penalty fee, so most put pilot orders are considered near-guarantees for a series order.

Gifted, which is written by Burn Notice and APB creator Matt Nix and directed by Bryan Singer, will focus on two ordinary parents, Reed (Stephen Moyer) and Kate Stewart (Amy Acker), who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive. The series will be produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Marvel Television, with 20th Century Fox handling physical production. If Fox does hand out a series order, it remains unclear whether it will debut in the fall, or if it will be held off for a mid-season debut.

The cast also includes Natalie Alyn Lind as Reed and Kate's daughter, Lauren Stewart, their daughter, Blair Redford as Sam, the leader of the mutant underground, and Jamie Chung as Clarice Fong, a.k.a. Blink, a sarcastic and lively tomboy. Clarice's naturally strong exuberance has taken a hit after a sudden and traumatic upheaval of her life. As she adjusts to the new people and places that are suddenly 'home,' Clarice is slowly becoming herself again. Blink is an established character from the X-Men comics with the power of teleportation. The cast is rounded out by Emma Dumont as Lorna Dane/Polaris, Sean Teale as Marcos Diaz/Eclipse, Percy Hynes White as Andy and Coby Bell as Jace Turner.
