Just a few days after HBO released a preview and the first photo for Game of Thrones Season 7, Episode 2, the network has now released six more images from the new episode, entitled Stormborn, airing Sunday, July 23 at 9 PM ET on HBO. While there aren't too many plot details to glean from these images, we do get new looks at some of the hit show's most popular characters, as the build-up to the Great War continues. And it appears will be getting at least one explosive confrontation.

The first of these new images, courtesy of HBO, offers another look at Jon Snow (Kit Harington) confronting Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish (Aidan Gillen). While we can't tell what they're talking about just from this image alone, given Littlefinger's advances in the Season 6 finale, it's quite possible he's talking to Snow about his sister, Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner). In the Season 6 finale, Littlefinger confessed that everything he does is to make sure he will one day be able to sit on the Iron Throne, with Sansa at his side as his Queen. When he tried to kiss her, though, she stifled his advances, and as we saw in he Season 7 premiere, things are still quite awkward between the two.

Still, after Littlefinger left, Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) asked Sansa why Littlefinger is still in Winterfell, with Sansa admitting that Littlefinger and the Knights of the Vale helped her and Jon Snow take back the North from the Bolton clan. Speaking of Sansa, one of the photos features her looking down upon something as the snow continues to fall in Winterfell. In the premiere, Sansa was watching Brienne train her squire Podrick (Daniel Portman) how to fight, when their training session was interrupted by Tormund Giantsbane (Kristofer Hivju), who made it quite clear that he has quite the romantic interest in Brienne. In yet another photo from Winterfell, Jon Snow is seen leaving on horseback with Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham), as the snowfall seems to be getting heavier.

Another photo reveals that things are starting to look up for Samwell Tarly, who spent a majority of the Season 7 premiere literally cleaning up feces, emptying bedpans and other foul tasks that almost caused him to throw up on a constant basis. This photo shows that he's going over a number of different books with Archmaester Ebrose (Jim Broadbent). The premiere also gave us our first look at Ebrose, who tells Sam that he believes his tales about the White Walkers. Sam eventually breaks into the restricted area, where he finds in a book that there is a cache of dragon glass (which kills white walkers) underneath Dragonstone, where Danaerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) has set up shop. We have seen in earlier set photos that Dany and Jon Snow had a meeting on the beach of Dragonstone, with many believing this could be the start of an alliance, where Snow gets the dragon glass he needs to defeat the white walkers, and Dany gets even more additions to her massive army, in her quest to take the Iron Throne.

Another photo gives us a look at Dany in her war room, alongside Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel), along with Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan) and Ellaria Sand (Indira Varma). We saw in the new trailer that Ellaria and Yara seem to be getting very close, very quickly. The Game of Thrones Season 7 premiere ratings represented a series high, with a whopping 16.1 million tuning in, which includes the premiere, repeats on HBO, DVR and streaming. 10.1 million of those viewers represent those who watched on the actual cable channel at 9 PM ET on Sunday night. Take a look at these new photos from the second episode of Game of Thrones Season 7.
