The Season 5 finale of HBO's Game of Thrones was full of shocking surprises that fans are still talking about nearly one year after it aired last June. One of the most surprising twists involved young Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) escaping from Winterfell with the help of Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen). Both Theon and Sansa were victimized by Sansa's husband, Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon), who is considered to be the most evil villain on the show. Entertainment Weekly caught up with the actor, who teased that fans will get to see different sides of Ramsay in Game of Thrones Season 6.

"I get to do loads of different things and show sides to Ramsay that you haven't seen before. This season fills him out a bit. We pick up in the aftermath of last season when Sansa and Theon have escaped. He's sheepish. His father is obviously not pleased. Without Sansa, he doesn't have a much power as having a Stark and an heir. Without her, he is not what he was. He's still sort of a bastard, really, even though he's been legitimized by another bastard - as Sansa rightly pointed out. And we start by finding out how Ramsay really felt about Myranda."

In the Season 5 finale, Myranda (Charlotte Hope), Ramsay's bitter ex-girlfriend, confronted Sansa and aimed a bow and arrow at her, while telling Sansa all of the devious plans Ramsay had in store. In one of the season's most shocking moments, the previously emasculated Reek/Theon pushed Myranda down the stairs, before leaping over the Winterfell wall with Sansa. We never did see if Myranda survived that fall or not, so we'll have to wait and find out. Ramsay was also involved in last season's incredibly controversial rape scene, shortly after Ramsay and Sansa's marriage. The actor revealed that his character doesn't have any redeeming qualities whatsoever.

"He's a complete scumbag. But I find that quite fun. He's a fun character to play. Obviously some scenes are disgusting and I dreaded doing them. But in this kind of environment [on the set] it doesn't feel like you're actually doing it, you're playing it, so it doesn't ever become too much. What's difficult is, as an actor, you still need to understand him in order to make it truthful and to empathize with him."

The actor also teased that we may not see Ramsay be quite as evil this season, since he has already been established as a nefarious character. Ramsay's father, Roose Bolton (Michael McElhatton) is clearly just as much of a psychopath as his son, but Ramsay seems more inclined to kill for pleasure, as opposed to killing as a means to an end. When asked if this comparison was valid, the actor had this to say, teasing Ramsay would be more "tactical" this season, and that we may even see him be "nice."

"That's probably true. Ramsay is quite tactical though, too - and you'll see that in this season. You'll see him change a bit, and take his responsibilities more seriously. There is stuff that's pretty bleak. The writing is so clever, you get to play against what you usually do. The audience knows about Ramsay now, so you don't need to always be doing evil stuff. You can be really nice and that makes it more sinister - and that's the fun thing to do with Ramsay. We're trying to play against what you know."

We have seen brief glimpses of Ramsay in the previously-released trailers, but we'll have to wait and see how his story plays out in Game of Thrones Season 6. Do you have any theories about what happens to Ramsay this season? Do you think he'll ever get revenge on Sansa and Theon for fleeing Winterfell?
