Throughout Game of Thrones' five year run, fans always knew what to expect in the upcoming season, since they could always turn to the next book in author George R.R. Martin's novel series A Song of Fire and Ice. That isn't the case with Season 6, since it hasn't been announced when the author's sixth book, The Winds of Winter, will be published. But we know it won't arrive before the new season. With no new book to turn to for solace, fans have been wondering if Jon Snow's (Kit Harington) death in the Season 5 finale is actually real, or if he will be brought back to life somehow in Season 6. Unfortunately, Kit Harington keeps insisting in an interview with Digital Spy that Jon Snow is really dead, and fans should get used to it.

"I was hoping that there would be an outcry of 'why?' and 'oh god, no, no' rather than 'thank god.' That was the right reaction as far as I was concerned! People didn't want me to die, but he's dead. So there you go, everyone has to get used to it."

We reported in September that Kit Harrington was spotted on the Game of Thrones set in Belfast, Ireland, but we don't have any details about the scenes he shot. It's worth noting that we haven't heard any reports of the actor's presence on the set since then, but the network did use this beloved character in a new poster for the sixth season. The actor also admitted that he hasn't worked on the show "in awhile," during this interview for his London stage play Doctor Faustus.

"I haven't done Thrones in a while. I had quite a lot of time off last year. I've been taking it easy. And relaxing. When I realized I was doing this, I had a few months to prepare for it, and something like this takes some working through before even getting into the rehearsal room."

He didn't clarify if he has shot scenes for the sixth season, but then again, we've already seen him on the set, even though we don't know anything about what he was filming. It's also worth noting that series star Maisie Williams recently teased that there's a great twist involving Jon Snow, but she wouldn't say that he's alive. What do you think about these new details?
