Nashville star Michiel Huisman has signed on for a recurring role in Season 4 of HBO's Game of Thrones. No details were given regarding his character, and it isn't known how many episodes he is slated to appear in this season.

The season is said to be based on the second half of George R.R. Martin's novel A Storm of Swords, the third book in his A Song of Fire and Ice series. The actor joins new additions Pedro Pascal (Graceland) as Prince Oberyn Martell, Indira Varma (Luther) as the Prince's lover Ellaria Sand, and Mark Gatiss (Sherlock) in an unspecified role.

Production is currently under way on Season 4, which returns to HBO sometime next spring. Stay tuned to find out exactly when this highly-anticipated season will hit the airwaves.

Michiel Huisman played Liam McGuinness on ABC's Nashville, and he also played Sonny on HBO's Treme. He also starred as Ellis in the theatrical hit World War Z.
