FX announced at the Television Critics Association summer press tour today that Louie has been renewed for Season 4, and that the late-night talk show Brand X with Russell Brand has been given a Season 2 order.

Network president John Landgraf also announced that Martin Sheen has signed on as a new series regular on Anger Management, playing the on-screen father to his real-life son, Charlie Sheen. He will appear at the end of the show's first season, and will become a series regular if the show receives its 90-episode pick-up after the 10-episode Season 1. It is said the show's chances of getting picked up are, "very likely." Here's what John Landgraf had to say about Martin Sheen's casting.

"[Martin's casting will] give an extra dimension to the show and make it a multi-generational family show. The show will still deal with his relationship with his patients and the women in his life."

In other network news, John Landgraf hinted that Wilfred will likely be renewed, saying he expects the show to be around for, "many years." FX also gave the green light to a new drama series entitled The Bridge, based on the Danish show of the same name. We also reported last week that FX may resurrect Powers, after declining to pick up the series last year. Here's what John Landgraf said about reshooting the project.

"There's a possibility that some of the original cast members might return. But I think it's likely that we'll start from scratch and reshoot it."

We'll keep you posted on the status of Powers and the rest of FX's lineup as soon as we have more information.
