One week from today, The Flash will return to The CW with the Season 2 premiere "The Man Who Saved Central City", debuting Tuesday, October 6 at 8 PM ET. During the season finale of CW Seed's Vixen, the network released a new trailer and a poster for The Flash, which gives us our first, albeit brief, glimpse of the main villain this season, Zoom. We know that Tony Todd is providing the voice for Zoom, but the villain's true identity will be one of the big mysteries that will unfold all season long.

When Tony Todd was cast, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed they wanted to do something different this season, when it came to the main villain. Last season, the producers modulated Tom Cavanagh's voice when he was in costume as Reverse Flash, to hide his identity from Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and the rest of Team Flash. This season, while Tony Todd will provide the voice for Zoom, fans will be left to guess who is actually inside the Zoom suit.

Zoom will make his debut in the second episode this season, Flash of Two Worlds, where fans will also get their first look at Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears). Last week's trailer gave us our first look at Barry and Jay interacting, but this footage reveals more of their first interactions, with the two speedsters comparing their nicknames (Scarlet Speedster and the Crimson Comet), as Jay warns Barry that Zoom has killed a lot of people on his world. We don't get a great look at Zoom in this trailer, but hopefully we'll see more before the series returns next week.

In the DC Comics, Jay Garrick was the very first version of The Flash, debuting in Flash Comics #1 in 1940, with Barry Allen making his debut in 1956. The iconic 1961 comic book Flash of Two Worlds revealed that both of these characters were from alternate worlds in the "multiverse," with these characters coming from Earth-1 and Earth-2. This groundbreaking comic introduced the concept of the "multiverse," which will be explored in Season 2.

Other new characters arriving in Central City this season are Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West, Michael Ironside playing Lewis Snart, Shantel VanSanten as Patty Spivot, Violett Beane as Jesse Quick, Demore Barnes as Henry Hewitt and Atom Smasher (Adam Copeland, a.k.a former WWE Superstar Edge). The show will also feature two characters from the midseason series DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Falk Hentschel's Hawkman and Casper Crump's Vandall Savage. Take a look at the latest trailer and poster before the Season 2 premiere episode, titled The Man Who Saved Central City, debuts Tuesday, October 6 at 8 PM ET on The CW.
