With The Flash's Season 2 premiere just over one month away, Australian network Fox 8 has debuted a new international trailer for the hit series, which offers a brief glimpse of new footage. While we don't see much in this 15-second teaser, we do get to see Barry Allen's (Grant Gustin) blue lightning powers for the first time. We see Barry speed through Central City, leaving a blue trail behind in his wake.

Last season, The Flash left yellow trails behind as he sped through town, while Reverse Flash (Tom Cavanagh) left red trails. In the trailer that was shown during Comic-Con, fans saw a speedster that left blue trails behind, but it wasn't known if this was Barry Allen or some new character coming to Central City, such as Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) or Zoom, who has yet to be cast. This trailer confirms that Barry is responsible for this blue lightning, which had already been teased just a few weeks ago.

Grant Gustin teased in a Comic-Con interview last month that Barry Allen will get new powers, that involve lightning. We can see in this brief new footage that he has tiny blue lightning sparks in his eyes, but we still don't know exactly what these new powers entail. Could Barry now be able to actually shoot bolts of lightning at his enemies? We don't know that for sure, but we'll find out this October.

New cast members this season include Teddy Sears as Jay Garrick and Shantel VanSanten as Patty Spivot, a new detective at the CCPD who partners up with Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) and has a crush on Barry. Also coming aboard this season is Michael Ironside as Lewis Snart, the father of Leonard Snart, a.k.a. Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Lisa Snart, a.k.a. Golden Glider (Peyton List), former WWE wrestler Adam Copeland, a.k.a. Edge, as Atom Smasher and Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West. The latest addition to this growing list of stars is Violett Beane, who will play the female speedster Jesse Quick.

The Flash returns with the Season 2 premiere "The Man Who Saved Central City" on Tuesday, October 7 at 8 PM ET on The CW. What do you think about Barry's new blue lightning powers? Do you think he'll actually be able to shoot lightning bolts as weapons to defeat his Central City enemies? Hopefully we'll find out more details about these powers soon, but until then, chime in with your thoughts after checking out the latest trailer.
