It happened! King Shark arrived on The Flash last night much to the surprise of everyone watching. And it was AWESOME! While the metahuman was teased in a clip leading up to last night's premiere of The Fury of Firestorm, no one thought this popular DC Comics character would actually appear on dry land, as he is one of the more outlandish villains ever created. But there he was, standing as a Great White-sized behemoth, looking to bite off the head of Barry Allen. And we have the cameo for you to watch over and over again. If you've never seen the show, you might want to start watching starting yesterday!

If you have not stepped into the wonderful world of Barry Allen, then know there will be a few SPOILERS contained in the next few paragraphs. The presence of King Shark on The Flash Season 2 was so exciting, because it was so unexpected. This is the first time the character has ever been brought to a live-action project, whether it be on the television or big screen. But The Flash has become one of the most ambitious shows on TV. And what they delivered last night was nothing short of crazy. And it brought the return of another unexpected character (you'll have to watch the clip to find out who).

If you're not caught up on the story thus far, you may not care why King Shark has Barry clinched in his mega-sized fist. The King is actually the henchman of this season's big bad, the super villain Zoom. He hails from Earth-2, which these latest episodes are exploring in a unique and unexpected way. But you really don't need to have ever seen The Flash before to appreciate how thrilling it is to see this monstrosity in the flesh. And for a TV series, the CGI looks incredible.

This isn't the first impressive CGI character The Flash has unleashed. Last season we got to see Gorilla Grodd in the flesh for the first time in a live-action project. It was equally as impressive. So much so, that character, who is just as weird and wonderfully scary as King Shark, will be returning at some point in The Flash Season 2. Producer Andrew Kreisberg caught up with Comic Book Resources to talk about King Shark's cameo. The character actually pushed the boundaries of what the show's VFX team is actually allowed to do. So we probably won't see an entire episode devoted to the Great White-headed human anytime soon. He explains.

"We actually put him in the comic book adaptation because we said, 'No one is ever going to let us do this and we're never going to be able to do this' since we weren't going to be using the Squad anymore. We were talking about it and it was really Todd Helbing who was like, 'Let's do it!' It was a very expensive 30 seconds of the show but our visual effects team are the best and they love challenges like this. It was just fun for us. Obviously we can't afford to do an entire King Shark episode so the idea was that he was one of Zoom's minions and just the latest in the line. Which does mean that there is a King Shark on Earth-1."

Wait! What? There is another King Shark roaming around on Earth-1? That means we'll likely see him return at some point. Which is certainly exciting. The character debuted in the pages of Superboy way back in 1994, more than 20 years ago, and ever since, he has accumulated a strong cult following. Some believe King Shark to be a mystical shark god. Others believe he is a mutant freak of nature. He works alongside the Suicide Squad, and it has been rumored that Ray Olubowale is playing the character in the movie. Though his appearance here may hint otherwise, as the cinematic side of the DCEU doesn't really feel like sharing its characters anymore. Some still believe he will be making an appearance on the big screen. If that's true, will he look as cool as this? We don't think so!

The Flash Season 2 continues next week with The Darkness and the Light, which sees Dr. Light coming through the breach. Barry (Grant Gustin) learns that this new breacher has come through the portal and sets off to capture her. Jay tells Barry that Dr. Light was not a threat on Earth-2 and that Barry can reason with her. However, during a fight with The Flash, she blinds him and drops some shocking news about Zoom. Meanwhile, Barry and Patty go out on a date. We have a trailer for next week's episode, along with King Shark making his first ever live appearance. What do you think?
