AMC's Fear the Walking Dead wrapped up its six-episode Season 1 last night with The Good Man, as fans begin the long wait for Season 2, debuting in 2016. Shortly after the season finale aired last night, AMC released a new preview, where the cast and producers look ahead to Season 2, which has been confirmed to span 15 episodes. This new preview features executive producer/showrunner Dave Erickson, who reveals that the show started out as focusing on "the apocalypse filtered through a family drama," but in the next season of Fear the Walking Dead, it will be the opposite, now that the apocalypse has fully set in. If you didn't watch the season finale last night, there will be SPOILERS below, so read on at your own risk.

We also hear from series star Kim Dickens (Madison), who teases that her secretive "dark past" will serve her well in the zombie apocalypse. Executive producer David Alpert reveals that fans will get more insight into Madison's past. We also hear from Frank Dillane, whose character Nick has been struggling with his heroin addiction throughout the first season, with the actor revealing that he hopes his character finds salvation in the new season. The biggest question that remains at the end of the first season, though, is where these survivors plan on going in their new boat, provided by Strand (Colman Domingo).

After Strand and Nick managed to escape the military facility, and unite with Nick's family, Strand took them to his posh home on the ocean, where he revealed his massive yacht that he plans to escape with. Alycia Debnam Carey and Rubén Blades reveal that the producers won't tell them anything about the Season 2 story, with others like Lorenzo James Henrie offering their theories about where they may go on this boat. The producers have confirmed in the past that this show won't cross over with The Walking Dead, since each show is set in different areas of the country, so it seems unlikely this boat will be heading towards the East Coast any time soon.

Living in the same universe as The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead is a gritty drama that explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the lens of a fractured family. Set in a city where people come to escape, shield secrets, and bury their pasts, a mysterious outbreak threatens to disrupt what little stability high school guidance counselor Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and English teacher Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis) have managed to assemble. The everyday pressure of blending two families while dealing with resentful, escapist, and strung out children takes a back seat when society begins to break down. A forced evolution, a necessary survival of the fittest takes hold, and our dysfunctional family must either reinvent themselves or embrace their darker histories.

Fear the Walking Dead is executive produced by Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero, David Alpert and showrunner David Erickson and produced by AMC Studios. The series stars Kim Dickens as Madison, Cliff Curtis as Travis, Frank Dillane as Nick, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia, Elizabeth Rodriguez as Liza, Ruben Blades as Daniel, Mercedes Mason as Ofelia and Lorenzo James Henrie as Chris. AMC also debuted the new web series entitled Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462, which will debut new one-minute episodes every Sunday online, which will also air during commercial breaks of The Walking Dead episodes. Check out this new preview for Fear the Walking Dead as the countdown to Season 2 begins.
