Orange Is the New Black star Elizabeth Rodriguez has joined the cast of AMC's The Walking Dead spinoff Fear the Walking Dead. No details were given for what character she will play, but, since the pilot has already been filmed, the actress' character will surely debut sometime after the first episode. The series has already been given a two-season order by AMC, with the six-episode first season debuting this June on AMC, and the second season arriving in 2016.

The series is set in Los Angeles just before the zombie outbreak shown in The Walking Dead starts spreading throughout the world. However, the show will not entirely be a prequel, as it will eventually catch up with The Walking Dead timeline. Although it isn't known when this will happen, there will be a point when both shows will take place at the exact same time, but set on opposite ends of the country. Series creator Robert Kirkman has teased that there may be elements from both shows that cross over, but no specifics about a crossover were given.

The cast includes Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey. Robert Kirkman co-created the series with Dave Erickson, who will both executive produce alongside Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert. Elizabeth Rodriguez played Aledia Diaz on Orange Is the New Black, and she has also had recent arcs on Grimm and Power.
