With production already under way, Warner Bros.' Entourage move has added a new cast member with actor/musician Kid Cudi (a.k.a. Scott Mescudi) signing on to play the new assistant to Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven).

At the end of the HBO TV series, Ari's longtime assistant Lloyd (Rex Lee) was promoted to a full agent. Now that Ari is the head of a major movie studio, he needs a new assistant, which is where Kid Cudi's character comes in. No specific details were given regarding the role.

Doug Ellin is directing from his own script, with series stars Adrian Grenier (Vincent Chase), Jeremy Piven (Ari Gold), Jerry Ferrara (Turtle), Kevin Dillon (Johnny Drama), Kevin Connolly (Eric Murphy), Perrey Reeves (Melissa Gold), Emmanuelle Chriqui (Sloan) and Rhys Coiro (Billy Walsh) reprising their roles from the HBO series, which ran from 2004 to 2011. The story centers on Vincent trying to get his new movie Dracula off the ground. New cast members include Billy Bob Thornton as a Texas billionaire and movie financier Larsen McCredle, and Haley Joel Osment as his son Travis.

Kid Cudi will next be seen in DreamWorks' Need for Speed, opening in theaters March 14. His other acting credits include the HBO TV series How to Make It in America and the upcoming Two Night Stand.
