Disney has revealed the first trailer for Encore! This is one of many shows being produced for the Disney+ streaming service, which is set to launch in November. In this case, we've got an unscripted show coming from executive producer Kristen Bell, who is very friendly with the Mouse House, given her work in Frozen and the upcoming sequel. This sees her in a very different position though, as she's reuniting former high school kids turned adults to reproduce the musicals they starred in years ago.

The trailer was revealed at Disney's D23 Expo, which happens once every two years and is essentially like Disney's own version of comic-con. The Disney+ panel was arguably the main event for the whole weekend, and it didn't disappoint. Many of the service's biggest projects unveiled footage and new details. But this served as something of a surprise, as it was something that hadn't been paid much attention to in the lead up to the panel.

We see in the trailer that the core premise of the series revolves around bringing together groups of adults who went to high school together. More specifically, groups of people who put on productions of musicals in high school together. The catch is, they're reuniting to try and put on those very same productions all these years later in just a week. That leads to some high stress, hilarious moments and naturally some heartwarming ones as well. Overall, it looks to be very on-brand for Disney, as far as an unscripted show goes, and Kristen Bell seems like the right person for the job.

In Encore, Kristen Bell brings together former castmates of a high school musical, tasking them with re-creating their original performance in a high school reunion the likes of which we've never seen. Emotions run high as these adults face faded friendships, former flames, self-doubt and much more. Through it all, these unlikely groups of friends, with the aid of Broadway professionals, they just might pull off a fantastic performance. Musicals such as The Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast, Annie and more will be featured.

This was just one of many shows teased at the panel. Other Disney+ originals include Marvel offerings like The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye, She-Hulk and Moon Knight. There's also the live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian, as well as shows like Monsters At Work and the Lizzie McGuire revival, amongst many others.

Jason Cohen created the series and serves as an executive producer. Kristen Bell, Alycia Rossiter, Will Gluck, Richard Schwartz, Jim Roush and Chris Wagner also serve as producers. Encore will be available as a launch title with Disney+ on November 12. Disney+ will cost $6.99 per month or $69.99 annually. Disney also previously revealed that a bundle will be available for $12.99 per month that will also include Hulu and ESPN+. Be sure to check out the trailer for yourself from the Disney YouTube channel.
