Yesterday, Marvel unleashed the first three character posters from the highly-anticipated Doctor Strange, featuring Benedict Cumberbatch as the title character, Rachel McAdams as Night Nurse and Benedict Wong as Wong, along with new motion posters for each character. It seems that was just the beginning of this one-sheet rollout, with three new character posters featuring Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo and Mads Mikkelsen as the main villain, Kaecilius. Don't be surprised if another trio of posters arrives tomorrow to ring in the weekend.

Tilda Swinton's casting as The Ancient One was quite controversial for a number of fans, since the character was typically portrayed as an Asian male in the comics. C. Robert Cargill, who co-wrote the script with director Scott Derrickson and Jon Spaihts, revealed in a podcast earlier this year that The Ancient One is the equivalent of Star Trek's Kobayashi Maru, meaning every decision involving this character is "unwinnable," stating that the character was a "racist stereotype" in the comics. While the controversy over the gender-swapped role appears to have died down, we'll see how fans react when Doctor Strange hits theaters on November 4. These posters surfaced on Twitter earlier today.

Mads Mikkelsen was revealed as Kaecilius in July, with the release of a prequel comic book that revealed he was a former Master of the Mystic Arts alongside The Ancient One and Baron Mordo. We also reported this summer that Community creator Dan Harmon, who was brought on to work on the script during reshoots, revealed a photo of his computer desktop at Comic-Con, which featured a number of Doctor Strange documents including one marked "Strange Confronts Dormammu". This was the first we had heard about this iconic villain appearing in the movie, but hopefully we'll get to see Dormammu soon.

Doctor Strange explores the tale of Dr. Stephen Strange, a world-famous neurosurgeon whose life changes forever after a horrific car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he is forced to look for healing, and hope, in an unlikely place-a mysterious enclave known as Kamar-Taj. He quickly learns that this is not just a center for healing but also the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying our reality. Before long Strange-armed with newly acquired magical powers-is forced to choose whether to return to his life of fortune and status or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence.

Doctor Strange opens in U.S. theaters on November 4, going up against Lionsgate's drama Hacksaw Ridge and DreamWorks Animation's Trolls. Benedict Cumberbatch leads the Doctor Strange cast, which also includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, Benjamin Bratt and Scott Adkins, with Mads Mikkelsen and Tilda Swinton. Scott Derrickson is directing with Kevin Feige producing. Louis D'Esposito, Stephen Broussard, Victoria Alonso, Charles Newirth and Stan Lee serve as executive producers. Jon Spaihts and Scott Derrickson & C. Robert Cargill wrote the screenplay. Take a look at the latest character posters for Doctor Strange, featuring Kaecilius, Baron Mordo and The Ancient One.
