The Associated Press is reporting that Dexter star Michael C. Hall has been diagnosed with cancer, although it was said his cancer is in complete remission.

It wasn't clear when Hall was diagnosed, but it was said that Hall has been undergoing treatment for Hodgkins lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system which is a part of the immune system. This form of cancer is considered to be very treatable and a full recovery is possible.

"I feel fortunate to have been diagnosed with an imminently treatable and curable condition, and I thank my doctors and nurses for their expertise and care," Hall, 38, said Wednesday in a statement.

Hall was expected to start production of the fifth season of Dexter later this year and the actor was also expected to appear at the The 67th Golden Globe Awards this Sunday, where he is nominated for his turn as blood splatter expert/serial killer Dexter Morgan on the hit Showtimes series.
