They don't call Deadpool the "Merc With the Mouth" for nothing, and there isn't anything that's off-limits. The preview for the first trailer even featured Deadpool making fun of the actual studio that was distributing his movie, 20th Century Fox, since they sewed his mouth shut in the 2009 movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Earlier this week, Ryan Reynolds took a playful jab at Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman, who responded to the video during the Sundance Film Festival, while hinting that the next actor who takes over as Wolverine might just appear in Deadpool 2.

While we still have a few weeks until Deadpool hits theaters on February 12, we reported way back in September that discussions are already under way for the sequel. After the first trailer dropped at Comic Con, there was an incredible amount of buzz swirling around this superhero adventure, and earlier this month, box office analysts were projecting it would make between $55 million and $60 million on its opening weekend, so a sequel is probably a safe bet. During an interview with Yahoo! Movies at Sundance, Hugh Jackman was asked if he would consider appearing as Wolverine in Deadpool 2, where he seemed to hint that the next actor who will take over as Wolverine may appear in the sequel.

"I've never thought about it till now, but doing something with Ryan - he's awesome - that's always attractive to me. But I think you've probably got several other people lined up to play [Wolverine]..."

The actor then pointed to his Eddie the Eagle co-star Taron Egerton, hinting that he might be right to take over as Logan. However, Taron Egerton responded that he doesn't have the "facial hair" to pull off the Wolverine role. Hugh Jackman has said on numerous occasions that the upcoming Wolverine 3 will be his last time portraying the iconic character, but he has also hinted several times that the studio will simply cast another actor, at some point.

Of course, we don't even known if a script is being written for Deadpool 2 yet, or if original Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will come back to work on the sequel. In another interview with Access Hollywood at Sundance, Hugh Jackman was asked what he thought of the Merc's Australia Day video. Here's what he had to say below.

"The Australia Day one? I loved it. He's just so funny, he's hilarious. I can't wait to see it, I love Ryan, and he can take shots... bring it on."

Another possible scenario is that Ryan Reynolds could sign on to play the Merc With the Mouth in Wolverine 3, which starts production sometime this year, with 20th Century Fox already handing out a March 3, 2017 release date.
