Last night, DC Comics fans got a special glimpse at the new series DC's Legends of Tomorrow with a half-hour special that debuted just after the midseason premiere of The Flash. While we get ready for the show to debut tomorrow, The CW Network has released two new trailers and a preview for the series premiere, airing Thursday, January 21 at 8 PM ET on The CW. This footage features this unique collections of heroes, villains and misfits joining forces as a team of time-travelling legends, as they go back to the 1970s.

In DC's Legends of Tomorrow, when heroes alone are not enough, the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat - one in which not only the planet is at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known? We see in this preview that this group was brought together to stop Vandal Savage, who is in danger of taking over the whole world in the year 2166, the year Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) comes from.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow stars Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein, Brandon Routh as Atom, Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter, Caity Lotz as White Canary, Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl, Falk Hentschel as Hawkman and Franz Drameh as Jay Jackson, with Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave and Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold. Based on the characters from DC Comics, DC's Legends of Tomorrow is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, Phil Klemmer, Chris Fedak and Sarah Schechter serve as executive producers. Glenn Winter directed the pilot episode, from a script by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg.

The show's main villain is Vandal Savage (Casper Crump), who fans first saw in the Arrow and The Flash crossover event that aired earlier this month on The CW. Other new characters who will debut on the show include Stephanie Corneliussen as the DC Comics character Valentina Vostok, a.k.a. Negative Woman, and another report from October revealed that the show is casting for Connor Hawke. In the Arrow comic books, Connor Hawke is Oliver Queen's son, although that aspect of the comics will be discarded for the TV version.

The series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, Phil Klemmer and Wendy Mericle, who all work on the network's Arrow and The Flash as well. Do you think DC's Legends of Tomorrow can be as big of a hit as both Arrow and The Flash? Chime in with your thoughts after checking out these new videos, and be sure to tune in tomorrow when DC's Legends of Tomorrow debuts.
