In a story with Variety, actor/comic David Spade has put together a deal with TBS to create an animated series based on the character from his 2001 comedy, The Adventures of Joe Dirt.

The project will be produced via Sony Pictures TV and Happy Madison Productions.

The Adventures of Joe Dirt followed a big hearted loser who has very bad hair and loves muscle cars.

The script for the animated series will be penned by Spade, Fred Wolf and Donick Carey (The Simpsons). Spade and Wolf initially co-wrote the Joe Dirt feature film for Columbia Pictures and Happy Madison.
