Now that we finally know Season 2 of Marvel's Daredevil will debut Friday, March 18, some fans may be revisiting the first season on Netflix, or discovering it for the first time before the second season arrives. The first season provided an origin story for Matt Murdock, who was seen donning a makeshift costume throughout the first episodes, until the finale, when fans finally got their first look at the iconic crimson superhero suit. The costume proved to be quite controversial with fans who thought it strayed too much from the comic book. Today we have a glimpse at early concept artwork, courtesy of artist Josh Nizzi, which is quite different from the final look we saw on screen.

The first piece of artwork retains the original color scheme from the Daredevil comics, even keeping the iconic "DD" logo on the suit's chest. The second piece, however, leans closer to the final design, which appears to be more heavily armored, while taking away the iconic horns on the Man Without Fear's helmet. The second design also scaled back the bright red color of the first illustration, although the final costume, designed by Ryan Meinerding, turned out much different than this incarnation as well.

In the Season 2 footage released thus far, it seems that Charlie Cox's title character will wear the same costume that we saw in the season finale, but it's possible that this outfit could be altered once again throughout the course of the run. This season will bring in a few new characters that many fans are looking forward to. Jon Bernthal has signed on to portray the Punisher, and we reported last month that the streaming service is developing a new spinoff series specifically for this character. Season 2 will also feature Elodie Yung as Elektra, Matt Murdock's new love interest.

The Netflix original series Marvel's Daredevil returns with the highly anticipated second season of its epic live-action adventure series (Marvel's Daredevil Season 1 is now streaming). The second season debuts amidst the release of the Netflix original Marvel's Jessica Jones, the upcoming Marvel's Luke Cage and future release of Marvel's Iron Fist, all leading up to the teaming of the main characters in The Defenders to premiere only on Netflix. The action-drama will premiere with thirteen (13) one-hour episodes.

Blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the superhero Daredevil in modern day Hell's Kitchen, New York City. Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil) is joined by a stellar cast. The rest of this ensemble includes Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle), Elodie Yung (Elektra), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple)  and Scott Glenn (Stick). Take a look at these early Marvel's Daredevil costume designs, and let us know if you prefer this version to the final costume.
