First she was a dancer. Then she was a judge. Now, she's hitting the road! Yes, you heard that right, fan-favorite Julianne Hough will not be back for Dancing with the Stars Season 22. About giving up her post, the Grease: Live star had this to say.

"I will miss being on the panel for Season 22, but have a lot of exciting stuff coming that I look forward to sharing. The pro dancers, producers and crew at DWTS will always be my family."

Julianne Hough served as a judge on Dancing with the Stars throughout Season 20 and Season 21. But the dancer-turned-actor decided against returning to the panel of the reality dance competition. She, herself, is a former 2-time Dancing with the Stars champion. Judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tolioni will both be back, with Len Goodman returning after taking a year off to fulfill prior filming commitments.

Just because she is leaving the judge's table doesn't mean we've seen the last of Julianne Hough on Dancing with the Stars. She's not ready to say good-bye to the show completely. And it's likely that we'll even see her return during Dancing with the Stars Season 22 in some capacity. Producer Rob Wade had this to say about potential cameo scenarios.

"Julianne will always be a part of the Dancing with the Stars family and we hope to see her back in the ballroom in the future."

Julianne Hough followed this up by stating the following.

"I promise it's not the last you'll see of me in the ballroom."

Dancing with the Stars Season 22 is set to return to ABC on March 21 with an all-new line-up of celebrity dancers. Julianne Hough has been with Dancing with the Stars since 2007. That same year, she was nominated for a Creative Arts Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Choreography. She later won the award in 2015. She most recently appeared in the movie Dirty Grandpa, which was released earlier this year. She also played the lead role of Sandy in the highly praised Grease: Live this past month on Fox. Her future acting plans have not been divulged at this time.
