The Antichrist had a nice, warm reception at Comic-Con, where A&E debuted the new trailer for the horror drama Damien. Thanks to THR, we don't need to be down in San Diego to get a first look at this intense thriller. From The Walking Dead producer Glen Mazzara, this next chapter in the long-standing horror franchise serves as a true sequel to the original 1976 classic The Omen.

Damien follows the adult life of Damien Thorn, the mysterious child from the 1976 motion picture who has grown up seemingly unaware of the satanic forces around him. Haunted by his past, Damien must now come to terms with his true destiny, that he is the Antichrist. Barbara Hershey stars as Ann Rutledge, the world's most powerful woman who has been tasked with making sure Damien fulfills his destiny. Omid Abtahi portrays Amani Golkar, a close colleague of Damien's whose fierce loyalty will be tested when he realizes who his brother-in-arms actually is. Meganlyn Echikunwoke plays Simone Baptiste, a woman whose life is thrown into turmoil when tragedy unexpectedly strikes. About the series, Glen Mazzara had this to say.

"Fans of that first movie will also be interested in finding out where Damien's been for those missing 25 years since the last time we saw him when he was a boy and meeting him now."

The series stars Bradley James as Damien Thorn. Check out this first sneak peek, which shows the tormented angel of darkness as he sets off down a new path as an adult. A premiere date has not yet been announced, with a total of 10 episodes planned for the first season. Take a look, and hold on. This is going to get a lot scarier than A&E's other horror hit Bates Motel.
