Conan host Conan O'Brien has finalized a deal through his Conaco production company to executive produce a new series entitled Bob's New Heart Show for Fox. The network issued a script order for the single-camera comedy.

Community scribe Ben Wexler wrote the pilot script, which centers on a cocky young doctor who is forced to re-think his life after receiving a heart transplant. He decides to leave the big city behind and take over a small family practice in his working-class hometown. The title is an obvious reference to The Bob Newhart Show, although it isn't known if there will be any other similarities between both shows.

Conan O'Brien will executive produce the series alongside Ben Wexler, David Kissinger, and Jeff Ross. The project marks Conaco's first project for Fox since they set up at Warner Bros. Television in 2010.
