Breaking Bad Season 5 is set to kick things off in high fashion starting July 15th with Episode 5.01, which finds Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) standing as the crowned king and prince of the New Mexico Meth trade. Breaking Bad, the explosive drama series that Variety calls "simply one of TV's great addictions," returns to AMC for the first part of its final season on Sunday, July 15 at 10pm ET/PT.

Breaking Bad Season 5 consists of 16 episodes, with the first eight episodes beginning July 15 and culminating with the series' final eight episodes next summer 2013. Created by acclaimed writer, producer, and director Vince Gilligan and produced by Sony Pictures Television, the critically acclaimed series has garnered six Primetime Emmy® Award wins and a Peabody, and been named to the American Film Institute's (AFI) list of the "Top 10 Programs of the Year" (2008, 2010, 2011).

In the highly anticipated new season, a newly empowered and increasingly remorseless Walt White (Bryan Cranston) finds himself attempting to control a tenuous empire. But uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.

At the end of season four, in one of the most talked about finales of the year, Walt White's war with Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) ended in triumphant victory. Now, his transformation from a well-meaning family man into Heisenberg, a ruthless drug kingpin, is almost complete. No longer under the thumb of a mastermind criminal, Walt now assumes the role of one himself, as he and Jesse (Aaron Paul) look to build their own empire.
