Marvel's Black Panther has added yet another member to its growing cast, with Letitia Wright signing on. Marvel has yet to confirm the casting, but the actress has reportedly come aboard to play Serita. This character was not mentioned in a previous report about possible characters that may be included in Black Panther, and we don't have any further details about this character quite yet.

Variety broke the news on this casting, revealing that she has signed on to join Chadwick Boseman (T'challa/Black Panther), Michael B. Jordan (Erik Killmonger), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Lupita Nyong'o (Nakia), Winston Duke (M'Baku), Forest Whitaker (Zuri), Daniel Kaluuya (W'Kabi) and Florence Kasumba (Ayo). A number of these characters were mentioned in a May report, only to be confirmed a few months later, but there are still a few female characters that haven't been officially cast, such as Monica Lynne and Queen Divine Justice. The Variety story states that the actress' role is unknown, but reporter Justin Kroll revealed on Twitter that she's playing Serita. Serita appears to be an original character that doesn't have roots in the Marvel Comics, but it's possible she could be another member of the Dora Miljae.

Monica Lynne is a singer and T'challa's longest-running love interest in the Marvel Comics. T'challa pledged his eternal devotion to her after she saved him from drowning, after he was defeated by Erik Killmonger. Queen Divine Justice is a former Dora Miljae, Black Panther's team of personal bodyguards, who is part of the Jabari tribe. Other characters mentioned in this May casting report who haven't been cast yet include N'Gassi, T'calla's adviser and acting regent when he's away from Wakanda and White Wolf, T'challa's adopted older brother and former leader of Wakanda's spy organization, Hatut Zeraze.

That report also claimed that Andy Serkis will return as Ulysses Klaue from Avenger: Age of Ultron, along with Martin Freeman's Everett K. Ross from Captain America: Civil War. It isn't known when casting will be complete on Black Panther, but hopefully we'll get a full cast list soon, since production is scheduled to begin in January 2017. Marvel hasn't released any plot details as of yet for Black Panther, although Chadwick Boseman has teased that this movie will be much darker than previous Marvel adventures.

Ryan Coogler is directing Black Panther from a script he's co-writing with Joe Robert Cole (American Crime Story). Marvel has set a February 16, 2017 release date for Black Panther, which arrives less than three months before Avengers: Infinity War. Letitia Wright is a relative newcomer with roles in My Brother the Devil and Urban Hymn, along with guest starring spots on Doctor Who, Chasing Shadows and other U.K. programs. She will next be seen on the big screen in The Commuter alongside Liam Neeson and Vera Farmiga, and Steven Spielberg's highly-anticipated adaptation Ready Player One, where she plays Reb.
