Immediately following last night's awesome episode of Black Lightning, the CW released a teaser for next week's installment, which featured a nice surprise. Last night saw a greater emotional depth than in the first two episodes. However, this latest clip features the debut of Thunder on the hit CW series. And she looks truly epic, even without her suit. While last night was a stellar night for ratings, next week might just see a spike.

The fourth episode of Black Lightning is entitled Black Jesus. Back in town, Black Lightning (Cress Williams) is recruited to rally against The 100 gang. Anissa (Nafessa Williams) investigates the new drug hitting the streets. Meanwhile, familiar faces begin to reappear. Christine Adams, James Remar, Damon Gupton III and Marvin Jones also star. Anissa's powers were revealed at the end of the first episode, but we're going to see her as Thunder in this next episode.

Though Anissa will be helping her father, it doesn't look like we're going to see her in the full Thunder costume just yet. As previously noted, the first episode of Black Lightning saw Anissa discovering her powers when she broke a sink with her bare hands while having an anxiety attack. She shrugged it off, but later found out the full scope of her powers when she was able to toss a robber, and after getting hit by a crushed car.

Both The Flash and Black Lightning brought in some pretty decent ratings for the CW last night with 2.7 million and 2.2 million viewers, respectively. The ratings for both shows have consistently been excellent, and it looks like there are no signs of stopping any time soon. The one-two punch of The Flash and Black Lightning are proving to be a force to reckoned with on Tuesday nights. Now that Anissa knows her strengths, it's only a matter of time before we see her in the full Thunder suit.

Anissa now knows the full extent of her powers, but it will probably take some time for the show to see her learn to harness them. Fans of the Black Lightning comic are well aware of Anissa's powers and knew that it was only a matter of time before they cropped up on the show. What remains to be unclear is whether Jennifer Pierce, the youngest daughter, will get to flex her muscles on Black Lightning. It does seem logical, especially since her powers closely resemble her father's, and that we'll see her using powers in a future season, or quite possibly by the end of this debut season. Black Jesus was written by Pat Charles and directed by Michael Schultz. Charles is also well-known for directing episodes of Marvel's Iron Fist. Black Lightning's fourth episode, entitled Black Jesus will air next Tuesday, February 6th 2018. You can watch the clip below, courtesy of The CW's YouTube channel.
