The beginning of a new year always means the return of all your favorite shows, along with the debuts of others that arrive in midseason. One of this year's most highly-anticipated returning shows is AMC's Better Call Saul, which was given a Season 3 renewal in March, although the network has yet to announce a Season 3 premiere date. It's possible that announcement may be imminent, with the network releasing the first Season 3 trailer, and it seems that Bob Odenkirk's Jimmy McGill has found himself in trouble once again.

The brief 15-second trailer, which debuted on the AMC Network YouTube earlier today, shows Bob Odenkirk's Jimmy McGill taking a mugshot, which could have some interesting implications for this season ahead. While it isn't clear what lead up to this mugshot picture being taken, it's possible that Chuck (Michael McKean) used the evidence he had against his brother, but that hasn't been confirmed.

Back in November, AMC gave fans a first look photo from Season 3, which confirms that this season will go "back to the future," so to speak, once again. The photo featured series creator Vince Gilligan sitting next to Bob Odenkirk as "Gene," the Cinnabon manager from Omaha who we've caught brief glimpses of in the first two seasons. Fans of Breaking Bad will recall that, during one of the last episodes, Bob Odenkirk's Saul Goodman hinted that he'd end up as a Cinnabon manager in Omaha when it all was said and done, and that's exactly what he became. This photo confirms that we'll see Gene again, but it remains to be seen what will be waiting for him in Omaha.

One of the other photos from November showed both Chuck and Jimmy seen in the same room together, which could be proof that the brothers will eventually bury the hatchet and mend their fences. Better Call Saul Season 2 ended with Chuck secretly recording Jimmy, where he admits to breaking the law. That image also featured Jimmy holding a copy of The Adventures of Mabel, a children's fantasy novel written by Harry Thurston Peck about a little girl who gains the ability to speak with animals. While it seems unlikely that this children's story will have any bearing on the plot of Better Call Saul Season 3, stranger things have happened. At any rate, the previously-released photo with both brothers co-existing peacefully is even more interesting when compared to this brief teaser, since Chuck may have been responsible for Jimmy being arrested.

We know that, eventually, Jimmy McGill will become the shady lawyer known as Saul Goodman from AMC's iconic series Breaking Bad, but that full-blown transformation may not happen until the series comes to an end for good. That doesn't seem likely to happen any time soon, given the popularity of the series, but many fans have been holding out hope for Breaking Bad stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul to return in cameos as their Breaking Bad characters Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. Given how little we know about Better Call Saul Season 3, perhaps these long-awaited cameos may finally happen, but AMC will likely keep us guessing until sometime this spring, when the new season arrives. Until then, take a look at this brief trailer below.
