Last weekend, the first season of Ash Vs. Evil Dead wrapped up in grand fashion with the season finale The Dark One. Starz has already renewed the hit series for Season 2, but we don't know how many episodes it will consist of, or when the new season may debut. Some fans may be revisiting this season to pass the time before Season 2 arrives, and as it turns out, there is quite a unique Easter Egg in the season finale. A Reddit user posted a screengrab earlier this week from a scene in the finale, which appears to show the glove of another horror icon, Freddy Krueger.

The glove is spotted when Ash (Bruce Campbell) first walks into cabin the basement in The Dark One, where a singular and very familiar glove is seen hanging from the wall. While this glove doesn't feature Freddy Krueger's iconic blades, it's clearly an homage to Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. This is actually just the latest in a long line of Easter Eggs planted by original The Evil Dead director Sam Raimi and the late Wes Craven.

In Sam Raimi's original 1981 classic The Evil Dead, one scene featured a poster for Wes Craven's directorial debut The Hills Have Eyes in the background. Wes Craven countered with a scene in 1984's A Nightmare on Elm Street where Nancy (Heather Langenkamp) was trying to stay awake, so she watched The Evil Dead. In Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn, Sam Raimi included a shot of the full Freddy Krueger glove, with the blades. Wes Craven also included footage from The Evil Dead in the original Scream.

It's possible that the inclusion of this iconic glove could be a final homage to Wes Craven, who passed away in August. Neither Bruce Campbell nor Sam Raimi have commented on this Easter Egg quite yet, so we'll have to wait and see what they have to say. It remains to be seen if the filmmakers plan on using any other Wes Craven Easter Eggs in the second season.

Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell will return for the second season with executive producer and showrunner Craig DiGregorio. Campbell will continue in his role as Ash Williams, the aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter. Lucy Lawless (Salem, Spartacus) is also returning as Ruby, a mysterious figure who believes Ash is the cause of the Evil outbreaks. Take a look at the photo of this unique Easter Egg below, along with a shot from Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn featuring a similar Freddy Kruger glove.
