Much like past seasons, Arrow Season 4 is set to introduce quite a few new characters pulled directly out of the DC comic books. Heck, it's even bringing back Hellblazer from the failed NBC series Constantine, with Matt Ryan set to reprise his title role. But there are two superhero characters who we've been told will never show up on the small screen. The Dark Knight and the Man of Steel. And we only have Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to blame for that. But Arrow star Stephen Amell doesn't think it will always be this way. He actually envisions a day when Bruce Wayne will come to Star City (yes, Starling City is getting a name change this year).

Stephen Amell was one of the bigger stars that appeared at this weekend's Wizard World Comic Con, taking a break from his intense match against Stardust at WWE SummerSlam 2015. There, ComicBookMovie managed to catch a couple of quotes from Oliver Queen. The actor believes that Arrow can definitely introduce Bruce Wayne at some point during the series, even with Gotham currently setting up his origin story on Fox.

Stephen Amell says DC Entertainment chief Diane Nelson is enthusiastic about a possible crossover. The idea could definitely move froward, though they don't want there to be any 'unnecessary character overlap'. The actor does understand how tough it will be to integrate someone as iconic as Batman into The CW superhero landscape as it is currently set up. But he's optimistic about how the show runners will handle such a big step in further expanding the small screen DCEU. About bringing in the Dark Knight, Stephen Amell had this to say.

"In the same way that... [Ezra Miller's] playing the Flash in the cinematic universe - theoretically, we haven't seen him yet - I see no reason why we couldn't have our own Bruce Wayne. That's my opinion; that might not be DC's opinion, and they're the bosses."

Arrow introduced its own version of the Suicide Squad before the movie was announced, but the big screen incarnation has kept Harley Quinn off the small screen. Back in July of last year, The Flash producer Geoff Johns claimed that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was keeping both heroes off the small screen as well, and that it would be awhile before either showed up, in costume, ready to fight crime along side Oliver Queen or Barry Allen.

"You'll see a lot of DC universe characters [on The The Flash and Arrow]. You won't see Batman or Superman. We're on production on Batman v Superman now. So you'll see characters like The Atom or Firestorm, but no not Batman or Superman right now [on TV]. It's a separate universe than film so that the filmmakers can tell the story that's best for film. While we explore something different in a different corner of the DC universe. We will not be integrating the film and television universes."

While we probably won't see Batman or Superman in Arrow Season 4, we will get to see the return of Constantine. It's a crossover that originally started as a plea to get Constantine back on the air at a different network. Though that didn't work, a deal was struck that allows Matt Ryan to reprise his Hellblazer character on The CW. Stephen Amell was a strong component in getting Constantine back on the air in some form. About finally filming scenes with Matt Ryan, the Arrow star had this to say.

"I've been filming scenes all week long with Matt Ryan. He is such a treat. And a trip. He's always saying his lines - and he's getting ready to go on Broadway right now with Keira Knightley, so he's always saying those lines, too. I can't tell if he's having a conversation with me, or preparing. And sometimes I chime in, he'll be like 'I wasn't talking to you, mate'."

Constantine will only appear in a single episode of Arrow, the fifth of the new season titled Haunted. No plot details have been revealed at this time. Though, it is believed that Matt Constantine will have a hand in reviving White Canary via the Lazarus Pit before she moves over to CW's spring series DC's Legends of Tomorrow. It isn't known if Constantine will appear on DC's Legends of Tomorrow, but it has been said that each season of that show will serve as its own limited mini-series, with some of the major heroes dying. It's possible that he could be a prominent fixture in one of the upcoming seasons if The CW decides to continue past Season 1. What do you think? Do you want to see Batman make his way to Arrow? Or is the show better off without the caped crusader?
