Arrow star Stephen Amell tried to censor a season 8 set photo posted to his twitter, but that hasn't stopped us from speculating. The actor who helped launch the Warner Bros. Television DC universe is saying goodbye to the series next season, and it seems there will be a lot of throwbacks to help him do so. One of which, he might have revealed to us already.

Stephen Amell shared a behind-the-scenes photo of him standing with director/producer and stunt guru James Bamford. The actor clearly made a weak attempt at drawing over his costume because around his neck we can see the forest green, soft fabric of a beginner-level "The Hood" costume. As with all of Greg Berlanti's ArrowVerse shows, the heroes tend to get a new suit every season or two, and seeing as the first couple of seasons of Arrow tend to be high on CW fans' best-of lists, they aren't likely to forget the iconic hood featured in them. But is this a flashback Oliver or yet another Earth's Oliver?

Adding to the speculation is the setting itself. The two Arrow masterminds are standing in a forest which oftentimes means Lian Yu, the island Oliver Queen was stranded on and the place he's often drawn back to. It's where he met Deathstroke, where he hid from his family, where Damian Darhk killed his son's mother, and where he keeps his underground prison. So we ask again: flashback or multiverse?

In the final moments of Season 7, we saw what we thought would be a happy ending for Oliver and Felicity. The couple settled down in their new home, had a beautiful daughter, and said farewell to the hero life in a very beginning of Endgame Tony Stark kind of way. Unfortunately, The Monitor interrupted their happy ending to take Oliver up on his bargain and force him to assist in seeking "to prevent the inevitable" crisis. Knowing it's his duty, Oliver says farewell and walks off. Although we later see Felicity tell The Monitor she is ready to see him again, we aren't given any more information about Oliver's mission.

With the upcoming shortened season being its last, all of our questions are bound to be answered in a somewhat conclusive way, particularly during the long-awaited "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover event. The creators have admitted that Mr. Queen will face the most consequences from the Crisis, and The Monitor warned that Oliver's death is unavoidable. So now, with the possible season one suit on Lian Yu, as well as the reported return of Moira Queen, Tommy Merlyn, Adrian Chase and Katana, there might be more to these throwbacks than simple flashbacks.
