Hot on the heels of the explosive season five finale, cast and producers of The CW/Warner Bros. Television's hit DC series Arrow dropped a casting bombshell at the show's 2017 Comic-Con panel session on Saturday, July 22. In addition to the return of fan-favorite guest star David Nykl (who plays Oliver Queen's friend/mentor/nemesis, Anatoly Knyazev), the series can look forward to the addition of a landmark actor from the genre series world: Lost star Michael Emerson. Talk about a person of interest!

Michael Emerson will join the series in the recurring role of an unnamed mystery character that has yet to be announced. The Emmy-winning actor is known worldwide for playing both the enigmatic Benjamin Linus from Lost and the high-tech billionaire Harold Finch in the Warner Bros. Television series Person of Interest. After the dust settled on season five, Arrow fans were left with plenty of questions about where things would pick back up in season six. While many of those questions still remain, the crowd in Ballroom 20 at Comic-Con was treated to a first look at all-new, exclusive footage from the upcoming sixth season, including the highly anticipated return of Manu Bennett as Slade Wilson, a.k.a. Deathstroke. During the Comic-Con panel, executive producer Wendy Mericle spoke about the explosion that destroyed the remote island he lived on for five years, before returning to Star City.

"The explosion felt like the right way to wrap up Oliver's story. Season 5 would end as the end to the last ten years of Oliver's life. We're not rebooting the show, we'll double down on things that resonated with people in Season 5. We will see a different kind of Oliver Queen. We'll tell some different kinds of stories with Oliver."

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice. As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), his vigilante-trained sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland), Deputy Mayor Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), and his new recruits, street-savvy Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez) and meta-human Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy). Oliver has finally solidified and strengthened his crime-fighting team only to have it threatened when unexpected enemies from his past return to Star City, forcing Oliver to rethink his relationship with each member of his "family," including his son William (Jack Moore).

Stephen Amell also discussed the rumored Arrow and Supernatural crossover during the panel, stating that he is still up for it and that it would have to be him playing Oliver as a waiter, who is waiting on the Winchester Brothers, played by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. Based on the characters from DC, Arrow is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (The Flash, Supergirl), Marc Guggenheim (DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Eli Stone), Wendy Mericle (Desperate Housewives, Eli Stone), Andrew Kreisberg (The Flash, Eli Stone, Warehouse 13) and Sarah Schechter (The Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow). In addition to the trailer, we have a fun video where Warner Bros.' Television's "special correspondent, a dog named Doug the Pug, "interviews" the cast of Arrow from Comic-Con.
