While both Arrow and The Flash are closing out their respective seasons on The CW, the network is developing an Arrow / Flash Spinoff, which will feature characters from both hit shows. Today we have word from Spoiler TV that the series hs been given the "tentative title" of The Atom, named after Brandon Routh's character who has already been confirmed as a part of the show. However, the site reveals that the title is not final, and it may change before production.

When the project was first announced back in February, Atom was one of four characters to be confirmed, along with Caity Lotz, who played Black Canary on Arrow before she was killed in the Season 3 premiere, and The Flash stars Victor Garber (Firestorm) and Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold). Since then, the series has added Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl, Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave and Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter. Hawkgirl and Rip Hunter were two of three "mystery" DC Comics characters set to be introduced in the spinoff, who have never been portrayed in a TV series before. The third character, who is simply known as "Mystery Hero" for now, has yet to be cast.

It seems unlikely that the show will be called The Atom, since he is just one of several characters that will pop up in the spinoff. However, it's possible that The Atom could be the centerpiece of the show, with teams of heroes and villains building around him, but that has yet to be confirmed. It isn't known when production may begin, but The CW is reportedly eyeing a midseason debut for the series. Would you like to see this spinoff primarily focused on The Atom?
