Arrested Development season 5 is finally happening. It has been a long wait since Netflix stepped in and saved the beloved series in 2013, but after a lot of talking about it, cameras are rolling and the Bluths are back. Want some proof? Why not check out the latest behind-the-scenes set photo shared by Tony Hale, which reunites his character Buster Bluth with his overbearing mother Lucille, played by Jessica Walter.

Tony Hale shared the latest set photo from Arrested Development Season 5 on his Twitter. He and Jessica Walter look like they are having quite the nice time as Buster and Lucille once again, which probably bodes well for the upcoming season of the show. If the actors are having a good time on set, what they are working on is more likely to be good. Hale had a simple but perfect caption he provided to go with the photo.

"Mother and me. #AD5"

It took a very long time for Netflix and creator Mitch Hurwitz to get the gang back together for Arrested Development Season 5. Considering that Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Tony Hale, Jessica Walter and everyone else in the cast have gone on to have very productive careers, it makes sense that getting them together would be problematic. That was actually an issue with Arrested Development Season 4 as well, which was creatively worked around by having individual stories that didn't see the cast together all that much. That was a bit divisive, but it has been promised that this season will see the gang spending more time on screen together.

Not much has been officially revealed in terms of what is going to happen in Arrested Development Season 5. We do know that it is going to be something of a murder mystery, which was revealed by Jason Bateman. The Bluths are going to be dealing with the death of Lucille Austero, who was played by Liza Minnelli. Buster had a fling with her and that will almost definitely be a thread that gets pulled in the new season. An Arrested Development murder mystery certainly sounds like the perfect kind of thing and is something that could make for some big laughs and creative storytelling.

Netflix has yet to officially announce a release date for Arrested Development Season 5, but the new season is expected to arrive on the streaming service in 2018. The good news is that there are already plans for Arrested Development Season 6 in place, assuming all goes well this time around. Scheduling conflicts aside, it seems like a safe bet that will happen. That should give you plenty of time to rewatch the first four seasons in anticipation, which may not be such a bad idea since it has been so long.
