It just wouldn't be October without the Winchester Bros. And they're coming back in a big way this fall with the launch of Supernatural Season 11! TVLine has our first look at the Double Js, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, as they prepare to fight a force greater than any foe they've ever known. And yes, the Double Cs, Crowley and Castiel, are back as well.
At the end of Supernatural Season 10, one of their roughest yet, Sam and Dean accidentally unleashed The Darkness. And this fight is going to get ugly! At least for one of the Winchesters. The latest sneak peek comes from the Season 11 Premiere titled The Bad Seed. As you'll see, Sam (Jared Padalecki) is looking a little worse for wear, as he stands amid a bloodbath with a black eye. How did he get here, and who has he been fighting? Those questions will all be answered when Supernatural Season 11 kicks off on October 7 on The CW. Just in time for Halloween!
Here, we also get to see the return of Misha Collins as Castiel. When we last saw him, he was shanghaied by Rowena as Crowley's fate hung in the balance. Now, it looks like Cas is having as much trouble with his eyes as Sam. Is everyone in Supernatural going blind in an ode to Mary Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie? Executive producer Jeremy Carver had this to say about the state of things when the hit show returns.
"Castiel, first and foremost, has to find a way out of this spell that Rowena has cast on him. That's not as easy as it may sound. Being under the influence of this spell, it's going to lead him to some pretty uncomfortable situations."
While Castiel struggles with yet another problem in his life, the King of Hell seems to be faring fare better. Crowley, played by Mark Sheppard, survived his latest confrontation without enduring any injuries. But it's not going to be smooth sailing for Crowley as The Darkness emerges. Jeremy Carver explains more.
"[Crowley] is very much trying to figure out how he is going to navigate this new world where The Darkness threatens just about everything."
There are other surprises in store for Supernatural Season 11. As this ground-breaking CW series prepares for it's epic eleventh year on the air, Dean's 1967 Chevrolet Impala, lovingly referred to as Baby will get a whole hour devoted to it. Showrunner Jeremy Carver revealed this unique and innovative storyline during Comic-Con 2015. He explains more about what we'll get to see.
"We are doing an entire episode [titled 'Baby'] in the Impala. It's going to touch on, 'What happens in the moment when they agree to take a case and normally you cut to whatever and they're walking in? What if you stayed in the Impala for another five minutes? What do they talk about then?'"
In its 11th Season, Supernatural will be returning to its original formula. And we'll also get to see some mysterious elements arise from Sam and Dean's past. It is also confirmed that there will be flashbacks. Which means the long deceased Bobby, played by the great Jim Beaver, will likely return. Supernatural Season 10 ended with the release of The Darkness, with Supernatural Season 11 picking up immediately after. The Winchester Brothers will have to figure out how far it reaches, and how to fix it. The big villain this year will be pre-biblical, and no one knows how to cope with its evil ways. That means Sam and Dean will finally be at each others' sides, fighting together instead of squabbling. It all begins this October. Get your first look here.
