After having racked up such high profile guest stars as Oprah Winfrey, Matt Damon, and Susan Sarandon, Tina Fey's popular NBC Thursday night sitcom 30 Rock is getting Oscar-award winning Hollywood icon Tom Hanks.

It isn't clear who Tom Hanks will be playing at this time. There is speculation that he will either appear on 30 Rock's upcoming 100th episode, or possibly this season's finale. Hanks confirmed the news via his personal Twitter account.

"RadioMan delivers msg from T.Fey. Result? I'm on 30 Rock! Thanks, RMan Hanx"

Tom Hanks' last appearance on a television series was nearly thirty years ago, when he played the reoccurring role of drunk uncle Ned Donnelly on Family Ties opposite Michael J. Fox.
