If the first photo from Halo: Nightfall, featuring Mike Colter as Locke, wasn't enough to get you excited for this digital series, then perhaps three more images of this character will do the trick.

Locke, who will also be featured in the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians video game, is an agent with the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), tasked with leading his team on an expedition to a distant colony to investigate a terrorist operation. However, once they arrive, they are drawn to an ancient and deadly alien artifact. Take a look at the photos, then read on for more details.

Sergio Mimica-Gezzan is directing the digital series, which Mike Colter explained earlier today was shot like a feature film, before it was broken up into segments that will serve as the individual episodes.

Prison Break creator Paul Scheuring wrote the script, with Ridley Scott producing through his Scott Free Productions company. The series, which has been compared to 2012's Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, will debut at the end of 2014, although a specific release date has not been given.

Stay tuned to find out if more details regarding the series are unveiled during Comic-Con 2014.
